Spanish monsters FC Barcelona have given Lionel Messi's vacated number 10 jersey to the young talent Ansu Fati, the club has affirmed.
The Argentine genius left the Catalan club this mid-year to join PSG after they couldn't keep him for the new season due to a financial crisis.
Ansu, who made his introduction with number 31 and wore number 22 last season, planned to wear the No.17 this year.
Nonetheless, he has acknowledged the demand that accompanies wearing the shirt recently worn by the best player ever as some may say.
Messi took the number 10 shirt from Brazilian extraordinary Ronaldinho and it was similarly recently worn by Rivaldo, Maradona, and others.
Fati is in the last stages of recovery after he got injured in the knee in the last part of the 2020 season.
He has not played for the 26-time Spanish warriors since last November however he is back in full preparing and Barcelona is trusting he will be back fit later in September to gradually reintegrate into cutthroat football.
