Arsenal advised to sell Thomas Partey

Former Aston Villa forward Gabriel Agbonlahor that sent a clarion call to English Premier League side Arsenal on their Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Teye Partey.

The former English star has advised the London side to make money from the midfielder and save the club some space for more healthy players who can help the course of the club in the foreseeable future.

Thomas Partey who has been with the club since 2020 from Atletico Madrid has been an integral member of the Gunners under Mikel Arteta, however, the English born Nigerian believes Partey's contribution to the club is minimal at this point.

The 30-year-old is currently on the sidelines due to a knee injury and will return later next month after the international break where Arsenal are billed to honor crucial games in his absence.

In an interview with TALKS PORT Radio, Agbonlahor pushes Arsenal to go in for a long term replacement who can give the club more than 50% of games in a season which he does not see in Partey.

“I would let him go. Some games he’s poor, some games he’s very good, and some games he is injured,” the former Aston Villa forward said on talkSPORT Radio.

“When you sit down and work it out, is he giving you more than 50% of a season of his best football? Is he doing enough? If I was Arsenal I’d sell him if the money’s right. I think they were trying during the summer.

“I would look at a long-term replacement because as much as he’s a good player, the injuries will just get worse the older he gets.”

Partey has been a subject of transfer to Juventus during the summer transfer window but the move failed to materialize.

Arsenal finished 2nd on the league table last season and are currently 5th on the table without losing a game after 6 games, winning 4 and drawing 2.
