CAF Champions League: Huge amount of dollars in the bag for Medeama for reaching group stages

 Ghanaian side Medeama SC will be receiving an amount of $700,000 from the Confederations of Africa Football, CAF, for qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Champions League.


The Ghanaian champions eliminated Guinean side Horoya AC by 4-3 on aggregate to reach the money zone of the competition for the first time in the club history. 


The Yellow and Mauve's brushed aside Remo Stars of Nigeria in the first round before beating the Guinean giant to make a spot in this season's challenge.


For the Africa Club Competition, Medeama SC have made stride before, making it into the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup in the 2014/15 season. 


The amount is expected to see Medeama SC throughout the six group stage games to usher them into the knockout phase should they qualify out of the group stages.


Other institutions, including the government of Ghana, have promised the club some amount to help them go through the Champions League phase.


Reports indicate that, Medeama SC are yet to receive the monies from those institutions, however, it is likely to get them before the start of the group stage of the competition.
