GPL Week 1: "We didn't convert our chances" - Fatawu Salifu

Head coach of Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Lions, Abdul Fatawu Salifu cries over his side profligacy in front of goal in their season opener against Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. 


The Ghana Premier League returnees displayed stupendous outing on the road which, had they won the game, would have been a fair reflection of the game in Kumasi.



The team from Volta failed to convert their chances which the game ended barren, and according to the head coach Fatawu Salifu, the result was what he expected in the game to get at least a point. 


In an interview with the media, the satisfied Salifu admits to his players playing according to instructions to snatch an away a point. 


"We created all the chances, they played the tactics I wanted them to play. We didn't convert our chances that came our way. First games like this looks tough", he said.


Hearts of Lions were denied a likely victory in the game when they scored a clear goal but the assistant line one flagged for offside in the second half.


The 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season started last Friday at Tamale where RTU won a lone goal against Hearts of Oak.
