King Faisal's stay of execution quashed by CAS

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected King Faisal FC's request for a Stay of Execution against the Ghana Football Association after being relegated in the 2022/23 season.

The Kumasi-based club had turned to the highest tribunal after being relegated from the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season due to a lost protest against Tamale City FC for a double registrations of player Jireh Kojo Nissi/Isaac Mensah in the FIFA Connect platform.

An appeal at the FA's Appeal Committee was also thrown out though the association admits the player in questions, Jireh Kojo Nissi is same as Isaac Mensah.

The "Insha Allah" boys asked for continuous stay in the Ghana Premier League until a final decision is reached.

However, CAS, disclosed the verdict on the 27 September, 2023, has dismissed King Faisal's request for a stay, pending the final determination of the substantive case.

The former Premier League team are currently preparing play in a tough Zone Two Division One League which kick-Start next month.
