BetPawa Premier League: Asante Kotoko's patchy start to the 2023/24 season


 Asante Kotoko continues their poor start of the season after they once again dropped points against Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium in week 3 of the BetPawa Premier League 2023/24 season.


The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Karela United – making it two draws and a loss in three games.


Evans Adomako gave the visitors an early lead in the 9th minute after beating two Kotoko defenders to hit the ball past Danlad Ibrahim.


The Fabulous boys left it just at the end of the game to find the back of the net to secure a draw at the end of the game through a fine finish from new singing Baba Yahya. 


Asante Kotoko are currently 17 on the league table after week 3 of BetPawa Premier League. 


The Porcupine Warriors we held to a goalless draw by Heart of Lions in the opening game of the season before a 2-1 loss at Gold Stars the in the first two games of the season.


Coach Prosper Ogum has faced some criticism from a section of the fans and media since his second arrival after a bitter split with the old administration. He has been under constant pressure to deliver despite leading the team to a league title in 2021 season.


Asante Kotoko's next fixture will travel to the capital to face Accra Lions, while Karela United will also play in Accra against Great Olympics in Match Day 4 of the league.
