BetPawa Premier League: Match Report - Accra Lions 0-1 Asante Kotoko

 Asante Kotoko left it late to record their first win of the season against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Match Day 4 encounter of the 2023/24 BetPawa Ghana Premier.



Second half substitute Kalo Ouattara needed the last kick of the game to give Asante Kotoko the much needed win of season.


Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum's side dominated the entire game as if they played as home side which defined the purpose Asante Kotoko came into the with after going their first three games without a win.


They made all the positive attacks in the first half to get the game a goal but their relentless efforts could not find the target to leave the game barren at half time.


In the second half, Peter Amidu came close to opening the scoring on the 50th minutes but Accra Lions goalkeeper gathered with a flying save leave the home side survived.


Just before the hour mark, Prosper Ogum came with a double substitution to bring in Justice Blay for Ntim and Kalo Ouattara for Steven Dese Mukwala to revive the attacking instinct of Asante Kotoko. 


After 90 minutes, the referee added 8 minutes to account for the lost time in the game.


Kalo Ouattara broke the deadlock on the 90+8 minutes from a pull out on the right flanks to head home the winner to snatch all the three points for Asante Kotoko.


They now leave the bottom of the league table to 9th position with 5 points after Match Day 4.
