CAF approve Cape Coast Stadium as home grounds for Medeama SC

The Confederations of Africa Football, CAF, have approved the Cape Coast Sports Stadium the home grounds for Ghana Premier League Champions, Medeama SC after inspection.

The CAF inspection team visited the venue few days ago and has accepted the venue as the home grounds for Medeama SC in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

The Cape Coast Sports Stadium is among the two venues in Ghana that are approved by CAF for the next round of games in the Africa Club Competition including Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Medeama had used the same venue for their preliminary stages of the competition and have successfully sailed through to the group stages which starts in November.

The Yellow and Mauve's had wanted to use the yet-to-be-completed Tarkwa and Aboso Park as their home grounds, however, the facility will be completed and ready in March 2024.

Medeama SC are drawn in Group D with Al Ahly of Egypt, CR Belouizdad of Algeria and Young Africans from Tanzania.

The Tarkwa-based are advanced in their preparations for the group stages with a trip to the United States to face DC United where they lost by 2-1 in an international friendly last Saturday.
