CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup: CAF inform Medeama, Dreams of approved venues for group stage games

The Confederations of Africa Football, CAF have informed Ghanaian clubs, Medeama SC and Dreams FC of Baba Yara Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium as the only approved venues in Ghana for the group stage games of their respective competitions.

CAF indicate that the two stadia are the only approved venues for CAF Category 3 games in Africa and that, any other venue is deemed unfit for games.

Dreams FC who used the Accra Sports Stadium for their first phase games will have to opt for either Cape Coast Sports Stadium or the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as their preferred venue is not part of the stadia to host games in the group stages.

Medeama SC, who used the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in their first phase of the competition have an option to stay or leave for Baba Yara in Kumasi.

However, the newly constructed Tarkwa and Aboso (T&A) Park would be commissioned for use in November and should be ready to host games in Africa after then.

Reports indicate the Yellow and Mauves have chosen the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as their preferred venue until Friday when CAF will close choices of clubs home grounds in the group stages.

Medeama SC are drawn in Group D of CAF Champions League group stages with Al Ahly whereas Dreams FC are in Group C of the CAF Confederations Cup.
