GFA Elections: GFA President promises to bring George Afriyie back to football

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Edwin Simeone Okraku, has promised to bridge all paths between him and dismissed Presidential aspirant George Akwasi Afriyie.

The President-elect, in his acceptance speech at the GFA Extraordinary Congress to elect executives to run the affairs of the country's football for the next four years, humorously states that the former GFA Vice President plays a crucial part in the successes of football in the country and will count on him in the future.

The WAFU Zone B President was re-elected on a 117 votes out of 120 delegates for the next four years and vows to reach out to George Afriyie to settle all scores for the betterment of Ghana Football.

"We are one people. My message to George is" Medeama" (meaning my brother). I'll bring back George to football, " Kurt told the gathering.

George Afriyie was disqualified to contest the GFA Elections for violating the rules and procedures by the GFA Elections Committee.

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association upheld the decision by the Elections Committee to allow elections to take place.

However, George Afriyie proceeded to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, CAS for redress which the case is still pending and will be heard on October 10, 2023.
