Salisu Mohammed shakes off injury, starts light training

Ghanaian defender Salisu Mohammed has started light training after staying off the pitch since March 2023.

The intelligent center back has had little game time after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he had to struggle through a recurring injury.

The 24-year-old left Southampton during the winter transfer windows to AS Monaco in the French Ligue 1 and is yet to make his official debut for the club.

The former Valladolid defender's return reinvigorates the nests of the French side as they continue to make headway in the new season.

He was an integral part of Ghana's squad in the 2022 World Cup where he played every single game in the group stages but failed to help the Black Stars to progress pass the group.

With Ghana in full swing preparation to the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, his return will be a boast for the team as she want to break the 40 year jinx of AFCON draughts.
