Seats at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex vandalized during Nations FC's clash with Asante Kotoko

 Home of Ghana Premier League side Nations FC, Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex was the center of attraction when it hosted Asante Kotoko for the Match Day 6 encounter of the BetPawa Premier League.



Portions of the stands in the stadium was ripped off by some supporters of the away side after a penalty was awarded the home side.


Asante Kotoko had taken the lead deep in the game with some few seconds to end proceedings when Referee Abdul Latif Qadir awarded Nations FC a penalty which was contentious, according to the away fans.


Seats in the stands were taking off and thrown onto the pitch by the supporters to vent their spleen on the official which halted the game for more than ten minutes.


The resultant kick was scored to share spoils after full time.


The Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex is a renovated edifice after Nations FC adopted the venue as their home grounds away from the Bekwai Nana Gyamfi Park from Bekwai Youth Football Academy.


The Ghana Football Association have organized myriad football events at the venue of recent late due its modern standard.


It is expected that the Ghana Football Association will start investigations on what happened and possibly, take action against the club whose supporters where involved in this heinous act.
