T&A Park to be commissioned next month

The refurbishment of the Tarkwa and Aboso Park into a world standard by the Goldfields Ghana Limited was started few years ago.

The new edifice which will house 10,000 spectators is almost in completion to welcome football games for Ghana Premier League Champions Medeama SC who used the old grounds for their league games before the reconstruction took place.

Medeama SC where supposed to have used the grounds as their home venue for their Africa Club campaign but had a last minute hitch which forced them to opt for the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Medeama SC have had a successful run in the CAF Champions League having historically made it into the group stages of the competition after eliminating Remo Stars of Nigeria and Horoya AC of Guinea in preliminary rounds.

The Ghanaian side await their opponents in the group stage games and would likely have the refurbished Tarkwa and Aboso Park as their home grounds, according to Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, Hon George M

ireku Duker.

After leading the Yellow and Mauves secure qualification in Guinea into the next stage of the CAF Champions League, the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources reveals that the stadium will be handed over next month for football activities.

"We will be commissioning our stadium also by November ending and we are using this platform to invite you to Tarkwa," he said.

"By the grace of God, we shall play our first match of the group stage in Tarkwa." Hon Mireku Duker said.

Medeama SC were supposed to take on Nsoatreman FC in the Week 3 of the BetPawa Premier League on Wednesday but the Ghana Football Association have postponed it to October 11, 2023 at the Tarkwa Akoon Park.
