AFRICA: Kwesi Appiah to observe Sudan national team players in Al-Hilal's Champions League game against ES Tunis

Sudan head coach James Kwesi Appiah will be watching Al Hilal's CAF Champions League against Esperance of Tunis on Friday at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dares-Salam, Tanzania in the second round fixtures in Group C.

Kwesi Appiah will be with his assistant Ignatius Osei-Fosu at the stadium with the mission to follow up on the Sudan National Team players in the Al Hilal team.

They will further give technical assistance to head coach of Al Hilal, Florent Ibenge as the team need all three points to have a fair chance of qualifying from the group after losing in their opening game against Petro Athletico of Angola.

The 63-year-old Ghanaian gaffer took over the Sudan job two months ago with the aim of qualifying the country to the next FIFA World Cup to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico and further make a berth in AFCON 2025 in Morocco.

The former Black Stars coach has so far started on a brighter note picking four points in two games in the opening fixtures of the CAF FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The game on Friday for Al Hilal will further serve as an avenue to help the coach and his assistant to have a fair idea on performing players who can make it into the National team for the next round of games in March 2024.
