Andre Ayew set to join French Ligue 1 side

Black Stars captain Andre Rami Morgan Ayew is set to join French Ligue 1 side Le Havre on a short stint, media reports say.

Andre Ayew has been without a club for the past six months after last featuring in a competitive game in May 2023 for Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League where he played 13 times.

After his temporal stay with the City Grounds side for four months just after the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Ghana captain has been without a club to keep him in competitive games.

He has been fortunate to have featured in the Black Stars since he went clubless after receiving invites into the squad for the month of September and has gotten same for November as Ghana prepares for her first game of the FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifiers next week.

As Ghana continues her preparation for the next AFCON in Ivory Coast in January, Andre Ayew would be an integral part of the team and be more efficient should he return to competitive football.

The former West Ham United attacker has 115 caps for Ghana and has scored 24 times in 15 years since donning the Black Stars jersey.

Le Havre are currently 7th on the French Ligue 1 table with 24 points after eleven games.
