Asante Kotoko SC fined GH¢80k for destroying properties at Abrankese

 The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association have fined Asante Kotoko SC GH¢80,000. 00 for destroying properties at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex against Nations FC.


The Match Day 6 encounter which came off on the 26 October, 2023 between both sides recorded pockets of violents during and after the game which were not gone unnoticed by the football association and has given birth to fines.


In the said game, Asante Kotoko SC were on the blink of winning the game at 90 minutes plus added time when the referee awarded Nations FC a penalty kick which was subsequently converted by Amidu Diarra to end the game 2-2.


Supporters of Asante Kotoko SC in the stands start breaking chairs in an attempt to vent their spleen on the referee denying them of victory in the game.


The Disciplinary Committee has further taken actions against the club on what happened as the GFA believe it is an affront to the efforts that are out in place for the progress of the game, thereby punishing the club by that hefty amount.


The amounts taken will be given to Nations FC to defray the cost of maintaining the damaged properties at the stadium. 


Other officials of the club were also punished for their actions on that day like Issah Amadu, who the Equipment Officer of the club and player Sheriff Mohammed for offenses committed on that day.
