Samartex 1996 welcomed Asante Kotoko SC at the Nsenkyire Park at Sameraboi for their Match Day 10 encounter of BetPawa Premier League.

Samartex 1996 defeated Asante Kotoko by a lone goal through former Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Keyeke in the first half which was enough for the home side to pick all three points.

An almost even game in the first half was highlighted by Keyeke's goal scored on the 31st minutes from a free kick which beat goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim after Augustine Agyapong fouled a player and was booked afterwards.

Asante Kotoko came close to getting the equalizer on the 37th minute but the home side duly cleared the ball to keep Samartex in the lead till the end of the first half.

The second half produced similar approach to that of the first with the little chance that came was by Samartex in the 66th and 68th minutes but did not go into the net to keep the game at arms reach.

The game ended 1-0 for the home to keep their home records intact and extend Asante Kotoko's defeat to a third loss on a trot after losing to Nsoatreman and Dreams FC at Nsoatreman and Kumasi.
