BetPawa Premier League: Match Report - Asante Kotoko place Legon Cities at their rightful position in a 3-1 victory

Asante Kotoko SC dealt brutally on Legon Cities FC in their Match Day 12 encounter of the BetPawa Premier League at the WAFA Park at Sogakope in a 3-1 victory for the Porcupines Warriors.

Nasiru Moro scored first in the game for Legon Cities before Asante Kotoko SC rallied from behind to score three times through an own goal by Suleman Mohammed, Steven Mukwala and Isaac Oppong.

Defeat stared Asante Kotoko in the face in the first half which saw Legon Cities producing the best opportunity to score which was neatly converted by captain Moro Nasiru from a well-calculated free kick on the 27th minute.

The free kick scored was held on by the home side for the entire half leading 1-0, although the away side made some incursions to goal.

In the second half, an invigorated Asante Kotoko produced a different game from the first half to dominate the entire half which gave them a second victory on a trot.

The pressure from Asante Kotoko was unbearable for Legon Cities to contain after the recess.

Suleman Mohammed was forced to score an own goal from the incessant pressure after Richmond Lamptey's pass to the wings was flashed into the box which was tapped in by the opposition defender to draw level in the game on the 67th minutes.

Steven Mukwala made no lose to Richmond Lamptey's piercing pass in between the Legon Cities defenders to open up the defense line to beat Kwame Aziz in post from the far end to put Asante Kotoko SC in front on the 74th minutes.

Asante Kotoko SC wrapped up their superb second half performance with a late strike from Isaac Oppong on the 93rd minute to complete a second run of wins for the Porcupine Warriors.

A successful journey to Sogakope was complete and a memorable one and a very good day at office for Asante Kotoko.

The win push them to at least 7th on the league table before Match Day 12 fixtures are completed.
