CAF Confederations Cup: Match Report - Dreams FC suffer defeat in Tunisia in maiden group stage game against Club Africain

Ghana FA Cup Champions, Dreams FC were defeated by 2-0 in the hands of Tunisian side Club Africain in the group stages of the 2023-24 CAF Confederations Cup at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi in Rades.

Tayeb Meziani and Kingsley Eduwo's two first half goals separated both sides in the game.

Club Africain unsettled the traveling team early in the game after Tayeb Meziani finished off a pass from Bassem Srarfi on the 5th minute.

Kingsley Eduwo extended the lead on the 19th minutes after goalkeeper Solomon Agbesi failed to keep the ball in play to make it 2-0 for Club Africain.

Dreams FC ended the first half practically demotivated with two cheap goals conceded with a proper plan for the second half in sight.

The wounds of Dreams FC were further aggravated on the 59th minute when captain Abdul Jalilu was showed the matching orders leaving the team with only ten men for more than 30 minutes in the game.

Club Africain could not capitalize on their advantage to comfortably end the game 2-0 in their favor after ninety minutes.

Even though Dreams FC lost, it was not a bad performance having recorded 6 shots with 4 on target and 46% ball possession.

Probably, the inexperienced of the side clearly showed in the game away from home, however, a return to Ghana in Dreams FC's next game should revitalize them for all three points against Rivers United from Nigeria.
