CONFIRMED: Medeama SC to use Baba Yara Sports Stadium for CAF Champions League games

Ghana Champions Medeama SC have confirmed that their CAF Champions League group stage games will be honored at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The Confederations of Africa Football, CAF announced the decision to reject the Cape Coast Sports Stadium to host CAF games after its inspection since it did not meet the requirements to do such.

The National Sports Authority in Ghana opposed the decision by CAF to reject the venue citing reasons of improper inspection by CAF and available resources CAF denied.

Medeama SC used the Cape Coast Stadium for their preliminary rounds in the competition but will be moving to Kumasi to honour their games as their preferred alternative T&A Park at Tarkwa would not be ready until March 2024.

They are in the same group with Al Ahly of Egypt, Young Africans of Tanzania and CR Belouizdad of Algeria.
