AFCON 2023: Mohammed Kudus to be available for Ghana on Jan 2

Ghanaian midfielder, Mohammed Kudus will be available for the Black Stars on January 2nd, 2024 after his side, West Ham United have taken on Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League.

He will join the team in Kumasi right after the game to finalize preparation towards the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, to be held in Ivory Coast eleven days afterwards.

He is expected to take instrumental part of Ghana's last friendly game against Namibia before moving to Abidjan for the tournament.

The 23-year-old has been a mercurial figure for David Moyes side since he joined the London-side from Ajax Amsterdam in July on €45 million transfer fee.

Most supporters of the club have expressed their disappointment for losing Kudus in the middle of the season after exhibiting breathtaking performances since arriving in England as they wish Ghana gets eliminated from the group stages of the tournament so he returns to the club.

In Ghana's attempt to break the 42-year-drought, winning the AFCON in Ivory Coast is a priority that requires the service of the player from the backdrop of his exceptional performance this season in Europe.

Coach Chris Hughton will be expecting an injury-free full squad to be able to achieve the goal of leading Ghana to the promiseland and Kudus Mohammed will be crucial to his set up.

He has scored 13 goals so far this season from Ajax to West Ham United and will be needed to give Ghana goals required to win the tournament's diadem.
