Bofoakwa Tano, club officials, player fined in the aftermath of league game against Nsoatreman

 The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association have charged Ghana Premier League side Bofoakwa Tano after inflicting pains on the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu in the Ghana Premier League game at the Sunyani Coronation Park in November.


The Sunyani-based side were caught on three counts for bleaching the laws of the game and various degree of offenses after found guilty of all charges against them.


The new entrance are to pay a fine of GH¢20,000.00 to the football association and a further three home matches ban from the Coronation Park.


In a statement published on GFA website, states that the Disciplinary Committee have ordered the Ghana Football Association to provide financial support to Maxwell Konadu and the referee of the day Robert Musey who were unfortunately manhandled by supporters of the club.


"After considering the defence of Bofoakwa Tano FC and also the evidence adduced and the recording of the match, Bofoakwa Tano FC was found guilty of all charges and sanctioned accordingly.


The DC also ruled that the GFA should offer financial support to Coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu and Referee Robert Musey who were attacked by officials and supporters of Bofoakwa Tano FC."


Other officials of the team including player Bright Boakye have also been fined after the case was investigated by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana FA.


"Officials of Bofoakwa Tano FC namely, Ernest Adu - Massage Therapist, Abubakari Mohammed - Team Manager, Isaac Tannor - Physiotherapist and Seidu Manan - Welfare Manager, have all been handed match bans and fined GHc2000 for physically assaulting the match officials in the said match.


Player Bright Boakye has also been handed a two-match ban with immediate effect and fined GHc2000 for breaching Article 12(1)(i) and Article 12(1)(k) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019."


After more than a decade on the wilderness of Ghana Football, Bofoakwa Tano returned to topflight football after the 2022-23 season topping the Division One Zone One League.


The club started the 2023-24 season so well in the Premier League but have lost touch in their last five games which has led to the sacking of their head coach Frimpong Manso.
