CAF Champions League: Match Report - Medeama SC fail to gather all points against Yanga in Kumasi

Medeama SC welcomed Tanzanian side Young Africans to a pulsating 1-1 draw game at the Baba Yara Sports in the Match Day 3 fixture of the CAF Champions League.

Jonathan Sowah's spot kick finish and Pacome Peodoh Zouzoua's first half strikes for both sides were enough throughout the game.

Young Africans started the game with a determined purpose to get maximum points in the game with their attacking mindset as they made all the positives in the games in the first twenty-minutes of the game.

Derrick Fourdjour expertly outruns his opponents inside the box and was brought down by defender Bakari Nondo to win a penalty for Medeama SC on the 24th minute.

Jonathan Sowah devoted himself to take the penalty kick and did justice to it by scoring from the spot on the 26th minute to put Medeama SC in the lead.

Midfielder Pacome Peodoh Zouzoua got the equalizer from some poor piece of defending from Medeama SC as he dribbled his way inside the 18-yard-box with the defenders caught ball watching to slot home to level the scoring on the 34th minute.

The first half ended 1-1 to leave the game for both sides to get the winner after the break.

On the 69th minute, Nickson Clement Kibabage scored but was ruled offside to deny Young Africans the lead.

Substitute Hafiz Wontah Konkoni had a clear chance on goal for Young Africans on the 86th minute but his strike was parried away by Felix Kyei to keep the game 1-1 heading toward the end of the game.

The game ended 1-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after ninety-minutes to split points for both sides.

Medeama SC travel to Tanzania next week to take on Young Africans at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium for the last group fixture before the AFCON break.
