Inaki Williams priotizes making success with Ghana in the next AFCON

 Athletico Bilbao's Ghanaian international, Inaki Williams has categorized being successful in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana as an utmost priority which he deems vital for his playing career.


The attacker, who has been in scintillating form this season sees participating in the continents biggest competition as a pride to him and an honour to his late grandfather.

The 29-year-old agreed to join Ghana from Spain before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has contributed essentially to the Black Stars scoring his debut goal against Madagascar in Kumasi in FIFA World Cup Qualifiers. 

He is hoping to produce a memorable tournament in Ivory Coast with the Black Stars as part of the attacking players for Ghana who will be chasing her 5th AFCON trophy in January.

"It means a lot. It is a promise at the family level. It is something nice for me. My grandfather passed away last summer and I know that he would be very excited if he could see me play in this Africa Cup."

He has registered six goals in the Spanish La Liga for his side who are lying 5th on the league table and will be relied upon for goals for Ghana in the tournament considering the fact that he is the second top scorer for Ghanaians in Europe behind Kudus Mohammed.
