AFCON 2023: Vincent Aboubakar not entirely ruled out of the tournament

Cameroonian National Team captain, Vincent Aboubakar has not been completely ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament due to an injury he sustained in training on Friday.

According to the medical team of the Indomitable Lions, he sustained a minor injury on his left thigh after conducting an MRI test and will continue training with the team under strict supervision.

The 31-year-old experienced captain is believed to be determined to follow the rigorous medical treatment set aside for him to ensure he regains fitness for the tournament.
The Besiktas striker comes into this tournament as one of the looked up players to lighten up the games after being crowned the top scorer in the last edition held in Cameroon two years ago.

The news of his likelihood of getting playing time in the tournament after sustaining that injury which, early on, looked scary, adds extra motivation to Rigobert Song's side ahead of their first game of the tournament.

Cameroon are five times Champions of Africa and are on the road to clinching their sixth in the this edition to close the gap on leaders Egypt who have won seven.
