Alidu Seidu joins Stade Rennais from Clermont Foot

Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu will be joining Stade Rennes after his club, Clermont Foot reached agreement with the Rhoazon Park side.

Stade Rennes were successful on their four bid to Clermont after being rejected thrice for the player who has been integral for them since returning into the French top flight league.

According to reports, the 23-year-old has reached verbal agreement with Rennes and will finalize the deal after the Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast.

The fee agreed is around €11 million plus bonuses to Clermont Foot where Alidu is expected to sign three-and-half-year deal with the French side.

Alidu Seidu will be leaving Clermont Foot on a difficult season the club is facing having only chalked 14 points in 18 games in the French Ligue 1 after a memorable last season.

Stade Rennes are making way to having a smooth path to ending the season getting an European football slot and will be counting on the Ghanaian to achieving that by complimenting the team's defense.

He is yet to feature for Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations.
