CAF announce increased prize money ahead of AFCON kick off

 The Confederations of Africa Football, CAF, have announced a forty percent increment in the prize money for the winner of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.


The country that will be annexing the coveted trophy will be taking home an amount of seven million dollars (US$7 million) with the runner up pocketing four million dollars (US$4 million). 

The 34th edition of the biggest football competition on the Africa continent is slated to start on the 13th January, 2024 to the 11th February, 2024 in Ivory Coast.

Senegal are the current holders of the trophy and will be leading the stage against twenty-three other countries to battle for the trophy and the new price money.
