JUST IN: Chris Hughton sacked after AFCON group stage exit, technical team dissolved

 The Ghana Football Association, GFA, have sacked head coach of the senior national team of Ghana, Black Stars, Chris Hughton, after spearheading Ghana's group stage exit of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast. 

His assistants, George Boateng and Mas'ud Didi Dramani have also been relieved by the Ghana Football Association after a deep consultation with the Executive Council until a new technical team is formed.

Chris Hughton was appointed as the head coach of the Black Stars in January 2023 after Ghana failed to go pass the group stages of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar where he was Ghana's Technical Advisor. 

After been confirmed as the head coach of the Black Stars, Hughton has failed to impressive in his position repeating Ghana's bad stance in the previous edition of the AFCON 2021 in Cameroon.

The 63-year-old gaffer has worked with English Premier League clubs like Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion and Irish national team assistant coach.
