Departure of Terem Moffi delayed

OGC Nice striker, Terem Moffi has to delay his departure before landing in Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast as the tournament begins this Saturday.

Initially, the former Lorient forward was not part of the 25 man Nigerian contingent to reach Ivory Coast for the continental showpiece, but owing to the injury of Bayern Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface, Jose Peseiro, the gaffer of Nigeria, named Terem to be the replacement.

French outlet, L'equipe has reported that, due to the late call up of the French based striker, his departure to Ivory Coast will be delayed as he will be engaged in OGC Nice's game against Stade Rennais on Saturday before saying goodbye to his club and depart to West Africa.

In as much as Nice could be feeling his absence, the arrival of Mohammed Ali Cho from Real Sociedad could prove very helpful to the side as the French can play on the wings and through the middle.

However, Francesco Farrioli and his charges will be having other problems upfront with Jeremie Boga of Ivory Coast and Sofiane Diop of Senegal also making international commitment with their countries.

With Terem Moffi landing in Ivory Coast after Saturday night, he is completely out of the Sunday's opener of Super Eagles of Nigeria as they face their group opponents during the qualifiers Guinea Bissau.

Terem Moffi will add up to the already deadly forward of Nigeria that includes Osimhen, Simon Moses, Lookman, Kelechi Iheanacho, Chukwueze, Musa and Sadiq - a formidable attacking force that the Super Eagles will parade at the continental showpiece.
