Inaki Williams jets off for Spain after Ghana exit in AFCON 2023

Inaki Williams has jetted back to his club, Athletico Club de Bilbao after Ghana exited the Africa Cup of Nations tournament ongoing in Ivory Coast.

Mozambique had to claw back to snatch a point with six minutes to full time losing 2-0 to score twice which leaves Ghana with only two points in the final group stages game on Monday night.

Cameron's 3-2 victory against The Gambia on Tuesday night means Ghana is with no change of making it to the Round of 16 as the Central Africa country finished with four points.

The 29-year-old had to quickly return to the Basque-side as they prepare for their Copa del Rey game against Barcelona on Wednesday where he is expected to be part of the Bilbao team for the game.

He was lifted by a standby flight by the club to move him to Spain to join his teammates.

The Spanish-born Ghanaian reported late to Ghana's camp prior to the tournament due to illness he contracted before the Christmas club which limited his games throughout the tournament.

Even though he played all three games for Ghana in the group stages, Inaki did not finish any of the games he played as Ghana ignominously exited the tournament.
