Kudus Mohammed places premium to national football to club

West Ham United star, Kudus Mohammed has placed importance to serving Ghana to club side as the Black Stars wrap up preparations ahead of their first game of the AFCON 2023 tournament.

The 23-year-old arrived late in the camp of the Black Stars in Ghana which sparked conversations of him not ready to play for the Black Stars in the tournament.

He insists on not placing anything above his commitment for the Black Stars and feels it as a privilege to don the Ghana shirt anytime the opportunity avails itself.

The former Ajax Amsterdam star player missed the chance to play in the last AFCON in Cameroon where Ghana ignominously exited the tournament in the group stages and could not have afforded to have missed this edition.

"I don't joke with national team football. It is a privilege for me and my family and everyone around the country."

"There's a lot of pressure and you need to play for the whole nation. Playing for my country is a big privilege."

"I always see it as a big opportunity to make the country happy and smile. We're going to do out best for the country. I'm fully committed to it and I always give my best when I'm in the shirt."

It is doubtful for Kudus Mohammed to feature for Ghana in the group opener against Cape Verde on Sunday evening having had less training sessions with team and recovering from a minor injury sustained at club level.
