Namibia, Legon Cities friendly game end 1-1 in Accra

Ghana Premier League side, Legon Cities FC honoured a friendly game with AFCON 2023 campaigners, Namibia which ended 1-1 in Accra.

Namibia who are in Ghana for their pre-AFCON camping had a test game on Tuesday to ensure they patch all rough edges before leaving Ghana for neighboring Ivory Coast.


Legon Cities scored first in the second half through Kwabena Boateng before the South African country pulled parity late in the game to share spoils.


Namibia have been in Ghana since last weekend to acclimatize with the weather akin to the host nation, to help fully prepare for the tournament. 


Namibia will have another friendly game against the Black Stars of Ghana in Kumasi on January 8, 2024 before departing to Ivory Coast for the tournament. 


They are participating in their 4th AFCON in a group with South Africa, Mali and Tunisia in Group E
