Head coach of Ghana, Chris Hughton, has finalized on the names of twenty-seven players for the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, to be in held in Ivory Coast this month.
The announcement was made in Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Alisa Hotel in the presence of the media.
The announcement will commence Ghana's official preparation to the tournament on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Kumasi, Ghana.
The initial camping destination of Johannesburg, South Africa was reversed last week when majority of Ghanaians poured their disagreement on the choice of camping.
The squad has three local players from Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko SC in Jonathan Sowah, Abdul Fatawu Hamidu and Richmond Lamptey respectively.
Baba Abdul Rahman and Issahaku Abdul Fatawu have opted to be left out of the team due to personal reasons whereas Thomas Partey and Kamaldeen Sulemana continue to nurse injuries they've sustained.
