The mentality is not to win the league - Keyekeh

 Captain of Ghana Premier League side Samartex 1996, Emmanuel Keyekeh has stated that, winning the league is not a priority for the club after finishing on top of the league table after the first round of the 2023-24 season.

The former Asante Kotoko lanky midfielder, believes winning games as they come is what will keep them going in the second round so as to finish well at the end of the season. 

"We won't say we will win the league but the mentality is to win as many matches as we can".

Samartex 1996 ended the first round of the league with an hundred percent home record, defeating all teams that visited the Nsenkyire Park at Samraboi leaving them superior to the rest of the seventeen team in the league.

They are half way through achieving their quest of finishing amongst the best four with 32 points at the summit of the league table after the first round.

The Ghana Premier League is on break for the Africa Cup of Nations which starts on the 13th January, 2024 to 11th February, 2024 in Ivory Coast.

The league returns on the 24th February, 2024 with Samartex 1996 hoping to going through another smooth phase of the season.
