Antoine Semenyo with a superb finish for Bournemouth against Newcastle United

Ghanaian international, Antoine Semenyo scores for his side, Bournemouth AFC in their Match Day 25 encounter of the English Premier League against Newcastle United at the St. James's Park.

The 24-year-old restored his side's lead on the 69th minute from a beautiful and audacious strike outside the box via Dominic Solanke's assist to beat Martin Dubravska at the far post.

After Newcastle United leveled pegging from the spot after Solanke had given Bournemouth the lead, Semenyo's tireless effort on the right flanks paid off with his daring run to leave his markers behind to slot home from the pass.

He was replaced by Burkina Faso's 22-year-old winger, Dango Ouattara on the 77th minute.

Andoni Araola's side are seeking to keep a floating position on the league table as they continue to shy away from the drop in the dying embers of the season as they are 12th on the table with 28 points.

The goal marks his 4th for the season with an assist to his name in 19 games in the Premier League.

He contributed to Ghana's forgettable performance at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023, where Ghana exited the tournament in the group stages.

The former Bristol City striker featured in Ghana's all three games which gave the Black Stars a paltry two points that warranted their early sack from Cote D'Ivoire in January 2024.

Since opting to don the Ghana jersey from May 2022, he has played 17 games for Ghana and has registered two goals and Ghana will be dependent on his service to seek for a berth in the next World Cup to be held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
