Former Barcelona right back Dani Alves has pleaded guilty to sexual charge when he assaulted a lady in a night club in Barcelona in December 2022.
Following the incident, the former Champions League winner was arrested in January 2023.
Alves was detained after his arrest as he wanted a bail of which the court disapprove of that.
Dani Alves was considered a flight risk as Brazil does not extradite their citizens sentenced in different countries.
In a ruling from the Catalonia court, Alves has been sentenced to four and half years and ordered to pay €150,000 to the victim of the sexual assault.
The Brazilian has the chance to appeal on the ruling from the Catalonia court.
