Pitso Mosimane lauds Williams after 4 penalty saves

 Legendary South African Coach, Pitso Mosimane has commended Goalkeeper and Captain of Bafana Bafana, Ronwen Williams for his magnificent performance in the quarter final game against Cape Verde.


Ronwen Williams saved 4 penalties during the shootout as the Rainbow nation matched on into the last 4 of the continental showpiece for the first time in 24 years.
     
On his X handle Pitso Mosimane stated "Ronwen, you carried the whole country on your shoulders. Well done to your team mates. Coach Hugo Broos and the entire technical team". The former Al Ahly and Sundowns Coach wrote on his timeline.
     
Ronwen Williams penalty saves have been unprecedented in a major AFCON tournament history as he becomes the first goalkeeper to save 4 penalties. 

Besides that, he has also matched 1996 record of Andre Arendse as he keeps 4 clean sheet in the AFCON.
    
The 32 year old Sundowns goalie after the game said he has studied the Cape Verde players very well in terms of their spot kicks which helped him very well during the shootout.
     
Williams went on to give credit to the analyst of South Africa for making his job easier during the preparation for the penalty shootout.
