The comment of Oduro Sarfo not the position of the FA - Henry Asante

 Ghana Football Association, GFA, Communications Director, Henry Asante Twum, has apologized to Ghanaian for the unsavory comments made by Executive Council Member of the Association, Nana Oduro Sarfo, on some members of the "Save Ghana Football" demonstrators.




The Chief Executive Officer of Berekum Chelsea was heard to have said that, members of the Valentines Day demonstration were packed with pregnant women and oldies who did not have any knowledge and impact on the game, therefore making it a failure.

Many have not taken his comments lightly and has seen him being dragged in the mud since Wednesday when the demonstration was held.

However, the spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, has apologized on his behalf and that of the association and unequivocally states that, the comments is not the position of the FA and that, they are ready to change the narratives of Ghana Football.

"I'd like to apologise on behalf of the GFA ExCo member [Oduro Sarfo] for that unsavoury comment [against the Protest]. That's not the official position of the FA."

The Ghana Football Association, led by the General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, received a copy of the protest which contained suggestions on how to change the negativities surrounding Ghana Football and the way forward to making football resuscitate once again.

A copy was also submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the presence of the Minister, Hon. Mustapha Ussif.

After Ghana got eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023, in Ivory Coast at the group stages, many aggrieved Ghanaians sought to asked questions as to how Ghana Football has failed to survived the test of time especially in the last decade at the continental level after 42 years of last winning the AFCON.

The last two tournaments have been disastrous for Ghana, seeing the four-times champions eliminated from the group stages ignominiously after millions of dollars were spent to have the covered trophy won.

The head coach of the Black Stars, Chris Houghton was sacked by Ghana Football Association and further opened applications to appoint a new head coach as Ghana prepares to continue her seek for a ticket in the next World Cup in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.
