AFRICA: Brahim Diaz earns a debut call up to Morocco

The coach of Morocco, Walid Regragui has named a 24-man-squad ahead of this month's two international friendlies against Angola and Mauritania which include Real Madrid Brahim Diaz.

The Spanish born player recently made a switch in terms of his national allegiance from Spain to Morocco.

The playmaker spent two years in the Italian Seria A with AC Milan on loan before returning back to his parent club Real Madrid.

Following his improved performance in Italy, he helped Milan to win the Seria A title in the 21/22 season.

The Atlas Lions took all the headlines two years ago in Qatar as they became the first African side to reach semi-final of the World Cup under Walid Regragui in his debut tournament as the man in the dugout.

Unfortunately during the recent AFCON, Morocco were eliminated in the Round of 16 by South Africa after topping a group that had Tanzania, Zambia and DR Congo.

With Brahim Diaz switch to Morocco, he adds up to some of the players who were born outside Morocco like Hakim Ziyech, Munir El Haddadi, Yassin Bono but came to play for the country.

With Brahim Diaz's addition into the Atlas Lions, he will bring a lot of quality into the Moroccan set up as they seek to win the AFCON on home soil next year.
