Forson Amankwah receives late Black Stars call-up

 Ghanaian midfielder, Forson Amankwah has received a late call-up into the Black Stars squad for the upcoming double-header friendly against Nigeria and Uganda in Morocco.



The 21-year-old has been in an exceptional form with his club, FC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundeliga and has been awarded with a his maiden addition into the Black Stars squad.

He made the provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast but could not make the final 27-man-squad for the tournament for Chris Hughton's team.

He has 22 games in all competition to his belt this season with four goals registered and will be in to slot in for the absence of Thomas Partey and Majeed Ashimeru who are yet to fully recover after picking up serious injuries.

Head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo named his debut call ups for the two friendly for his second stint and has included new faces into the team including Diomande Baba Mohammed of Rangers in Scotland, Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko, Ibrahim Osman of Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ghana will take on Nigeria on Friday, 22 March, 2024 in Marrakech, Morocco before clashing with Uganda few days later in the same city.
