Otto Addo names Ghana's squad for Nigeria, Uganda friendly; Akologo, Asare, Diomande make squad

 Head Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Otto Addo has named his squad for the upcoming friendly games against Nigeria and Uganda in Morocco.



The former Borussia Dortmund trainer returns to the team as a full-time coach after serving as a part-time coach during his first stint in 2022.

His first assignment for Ghana after signing a three-year-deal will be the two friendly games in the March 2024 FIFA International break.

Among the players called-up include Asante Kotoko SC goalkeeper, Frederick Asare and Bolivian-based David Akologo together with Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Joseph Wollacott.

Otto Addo has made new additions to the squad to bring in Nathaniel Adjei of Lorient in the French Ligue 1 on loan from Hammaby IF among the defenders.

Mohammed Diomande Baba of Rangers in Scotland who has double nationality has opted to don the Ghana jersey instead of Ivory Coast and has received his maiden call up into the team.

Newly signed Brighton and Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman, formerly of Norsdjelland receives his first call up into the national team whiles Abdul Fatawu Issahaku of Leicester City returns after missing out for the 2023 AFCON in Cote D'Ivoire.

Ghana will take on Nigeria on Friday, 22 March, 2024 before taking on Uganda few days later in Marrakech.
