Asante Kotoko SC will be back to training at the Adako Jachie training grounds on Friday, 28 June, 2024 in preparation to the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup.
The game will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 5, 2024 against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors have made away with nineteen (19) players after the end of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season citing reasons of indiscipline and disrespect on the part of players to higher authorities within the club, especially to the technical team.
The club is left with less than fifteen (15) players to prepare adequately for the game to commemorate the game organized by the Parliament of Ghana with the support and sanction by the Ghana Football Association.
As it stands, the 24-times Ghanaian champions have been busy in the transfer market in search of players to augment their squad ahead of the start of the 2024/25 football season.
The Democracy Cup will be the third meeting of both clubs this season as Asante Kotoko SC triumphed over Accra Hearts of Oak in both legs of the Ghana Premier League.
A win for Asante Kotoko SC will give them the third bragging right on their bitterest rivals whereas Hearts of Oak will be searching for a victory consolidate their defeats against Asante Kotoko SC.
