BREAKING: Ghana wins bid to host 2026 African Athletics Championship in Accra

 Ghana has won the bid to host the African Athletics Championship to be staged in 2026 in Accra after it was confirmed by the Confederation of Africa Athletics in Douala, Cameroon, Saturday.


This year's event is ongoing at the Stade Japoma Stadium in Douala, Cameroon where several Africa countries are competing for laurels including Ghana and Nigeria.

The Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) is hosting major events such as the continental championships, World Athletics labelled competitions, African Athletics Tour, Regional championships and other African competitions in the Central Africa country.

Ghana bid was teamed up by Mr. Majid Bawa of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Fuseini Bawah of the Ghana Athletics and Charles Osei Assibey, Vice President of the World Arm Wrestling Federation.
