Hearts of Oak to complete Solomon Agbesi deal

Accra Hearts of Oak are on the verge of completing the signing of Dreams FC goalkeeper Solomon Agbesi on a free transfer from Dreams FC.

The goalkeeper has had his contract expired with last season's CAF Confederations Cup semi finalist and could not reach an amicable agreement on contract extension.

This has come as a blessing in disguise for the Phobians who have struggled in recent years to have a safest pair of hands for the club.

The 21-times Ghanaian champions have lost trust in the capabilities of available goalkeepers Eric Ofori Antwi, Richard Attah, Richmond Ayi and some few young goalies who joined the club last season.

With the promise Solomon Agbesi showed last season in the CAF Confederations Cup with Dreams FC where he was crowned the best goalkeeper in the competition, provides him the opportunity to snatch the number one position for Hearts of Oak should the deal to join the club completes.

The club believes the rate at which the team conceded goals last season which nearly relegated them from the top flight league was mainly due to lack of goalkeeping prowess of the team and that, Solomon Agbesi could be a panacea to the team's ailing problem over the last few years.

It is reported that the club will be parting ways with their current crop of keepers to make way for new ones which gives credence to the fact that Solomon Agbesi's move to Hearts of Oak is imminent.

Relegated side, Accra Great Olympics goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare is also in line to join Solomon Agbesi to the Rainbow side and will compete feverishly for the number one spot next season should the deal go through.
