"I took a responsible conclusion to exit Kotoko"- Danlad

Former Asante Kotoko SC captain, Danlad Ibrahim agrees that the decision to exit the club was not a singular decision by a person but a joint conclusion by the IMC, technical team and himself.

The former National U-20 captain left Asante Kotoko SC after the expiration of his contract after close to a decade with the club together with eighteen (18) other players whose contract got terminated on mutual consent which sparked a lot of brouhaha amongst the media space.

The World Cup participating player indicates that, he left the club with cool heads between himself and everyone at the helm of affairs and believes it was about time he moved on to the next level in his career as he has served enough.

In an interview, Danlad categorically states that he took a "responsible conclusion" to call his time up at the club.

“Coach Ogum understands me and knows my capabilities. Again, he knows how I helped the team off the pitch. My exit from Kotoko isn't solely Ogum's decision. My decision to quit the club is a joint one with the coach, the IMC, and myself. We reached a responsible conclusion and decided it was time for me to leave the club,” he told Onua TV.

“No one knows what transpired before my departure so they have every right to say anything but truth be told, I have no issue with coach Ogum. As a player you can never have issues with your coach because you never know where you will again”.

Asante Kotoko SC will face off against Accra Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium next month.
