"I'm prepared to play for Kotoko" - Owusu Kwabena

Bibiani Goldstars forward, Prince Owusu Kwabena has spoken on his readiness to join the Asante Kotoko SC family after confirming negotiations far advanced with the club.

The attacker left Bibiani Goldstars after the 2023/24 season when his contract with the mining side expired and will be heading towards Kumasi to don the red jersey for the club.

His move to Asante Kotoko SC collapsed after the first round of the 2023/24 season when reports established that the player is hopeful of joining the club.

However, Bibiani Goldstars did not approve the move as they needed his quality to battle relegation which they achieved at the end of the season.

With him being a free agent now, he courts for support from the teeming fans of the club as they advance preparation for the 2024/25 season which he will play an integral part after Asante Kotoko went trophy-less in the last two seasons.

"Yes, I have received calls, and the majority of them are from Asante Kotoko. We are far along in the conversation, and I am hoping it will go well.

"The number of players leaving after a year with Kotoko does not concern me, I am there to work and will give my all, just as I did with Gold Stars.

"I am a striker who can play from both wings as well as the main striker, so they will see me more around the opponent's box, similar to how Samuel Eto'o (my role model) used to play. I only seek strength to perform my duties.

"I asked the fans to support us with prayers, and when I arrive at Kotoko, with God everything will be fine," Prince Owusu Kwabena said.

Asante Kotoko SC will be back to training on Friday to start preparation for the maiden edition of the Democracy Cup against Accra Hearts of Oak which comes off at the Accra Sports Stadium on July 5, 2024.
