Jerome Opoku joins Istanbul Basaksehir permanently

Ghanaian defender, Jerome Opoku has completed a permanent move to Istanbul BaÅŸakÅŸehir from Portuguese side Arouca.

The lanky central defender impressed so much in his performance last season for the Turkish side playing 28 games and scoring four times from defense with an assist.

The club have, thus, rewarded the 25-year-old with a permanent move with a three-year-deal which will lead him with the club till the end of the 2027/28 season.

His good performance saw him having a call up into the senior national team of Ghana and scored on his full debut for the Black Stars against Uganda in a 2-2 draw game.

He did not feature for Ghana's double-header World Cup Qualifier against Mali and Central Africa Republic earlier this month even though he was part of the squad for both games.
