REPORTS: Ethiopian star for Asante Kotoko SC trial

After parting ways with nineteen (19) first team players after the 2023/24 season, Asante Kotoko SC are ripe hot in the transfer market to patch up the holes left ahead of the start of the new season.

Transfer of foreign players will likely lead the camp of the Porcupine Warriors to invigorate the side in all competitions for the 2024/25 season.

One player who will likely join Asante Kotoko SC is Ethiopian striker Abubeker Nassir to replace outgone Ugandan maskman, Steven Dese Mukwala who was the club's top scorer for the last two seasons.

Reports in the Ghanaian media indicate that, Abubeker Nassir will be in Ghana to undergo a mandatory trial with Asante Kotoko SC to test his mettle for a possible signing.

The player has been without a club since he left Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa few days ago and will be available to Asante Kotoko SC should he passes his trials in Kumasi.

Based on his profile, he will be a player Asante Kotoko SC could bang on having caps with the Ethiopian National Team with five goals in his name, puts him in a bracket the club would benefit from barring his test at the Adako Jachie training grounds.

Asante Kotoko SC have gone back-to-back trophy-less seasons since winning the league in the 2021/22 season under the erstwhile Nana Yaw Amponsah administration.

To avoid another season without a trophy, the club is seeking to add national team materials to the team squad ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season which makes the choice for Nassir Abubeker an ideal one should he convince the technical team of Asante Kotoko SC during his trial.
