Atalanta target Ibrahim Sulemana

Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana Kakari is on the verge of completing a move to Italian side Atalanta Bergamo from Cagliari Calcio for the 2024/25 likely to sign a four year deal.

The deal is proposed to be around a valuation between €5-10 million.

The 21-year-old has been a mercurial figure for Cagliari for the past seasons since moving to Italy and has attracted the interest of several top Serie A sides.

With two goals scored from a defensive midfield position in 21 matches during the 2023/24 season, he has impressed Atalanta Bergamo after monitoring the player since his days with Hellas Verona.

Agreement has been far reached, according to reports in Italy, between both clubs and will see the player replace Gambian midfielder Ebrima Colley who has permanently left to Young Boys in the Swiss League.

Ibrahim Sulemana performance has seen him earn a national team call up with the Black Stars for her 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Mali and Central Africa Republic in June 2024.

He featured in Ghana's victory against Mali in Bamako where he came on at the death of the game to protect Ghana's 2-1 lead but did not have any part to place in the game against CAR in Kumasi.
