The Confederations of Africa Football, CAF has set 16 July, 2024 as the final date for the teams that will be participating in the Champions League and Confederations Cup to submit their squad list for the preliminary rounds of the competition.
Ghana representatives for the 2024/25 CAF Africa Club Competition campaign, Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC have until that deadline to provide their team list to CAF and made known to the public ahead of the competition.
Both clubs have a lot on their hands as Ghana's representatives after the heroic displays by Medeama SC and Dreams FC in last season's competition in the Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
After winning the league with ten points different from the second place, Samartex 1996 will have to raise the bar in making it pass the preliminary rounds into the group stages in order to better Ghana's chances of securing another slot in the CAF Champions League.
For Nsoatreman FC, after the exit of Maxwell Konadu as the head coach of the club, selecting a choice of a coach to replace the former Black Stars manager will be crucial in how they perform in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Having had last season's debutants, Dreams FC reaching the semi-finals of the competition leaves a huge space for the MTN FA Cup champions to replicate same or do better so boast the credentials of Ghana's club football in Africa.
The draw for the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup will be done later this month for Samartex 1996 and Nsoatreman FC to know their opponents before the kick start of the competition in August.
